Lend Your Voice!
We are really enjoying our New Testament Journey! We take a chapter of the New Testament each weekday and do our best to squeeze all we can from it! To help each other along the way we have a daily devotional available on our website, we have YouTube episodes going a bit deeper each week AND we are reading, recording and releasing a new audio New Testament - check it out here!
Our heart for this audio New Testament is that it’s read by Croydon Vineyard, for Croydon Vineyard. It’s the whole church, reading the whole of the New Testament. So we would love as many people from the church to participate as possible - all ages, accents and attitudes!
If you are happy to lend your voice - we’d love to hear it!
There are two different ways you can do this…
1) Record Yourself And Send us the Audio File
OR
2) Contact us to arrange us recording you!
Here is the step-by-step on how to 1) Record Yourself and Send Us The Audio File. If you are comfortable recording a voice note or audio file and emailing it to us this is the simplest way.
Go to this page - pick a chapter that has not yet been recorded (shown by having no name next to it)
Find the NIV version of the chapter. You can find that online if you need it, for example at www.biblegateway.com
Find a good place to record i.e. enclosed space, minimal outside noise, ‘soft’ walls (e.g. carpet and curtains).
Use a decent mic… we aren’t looking for recording studio quality… a newish smartphone should do it, but if you have a mic do use it.
Say the chapter number to start e.g. (“chapter nine”)
Read the chapter. Don’t include verse numbers or paragraph headings. If you make a mistake you do not need to start again, simply go back to the beginning of the verse or sentence and repeat. We will edit out simple mistakes and repetitions for you. Similarly, if a background noise is intrusive, simply repeat the part and continue. You do not need to submit a perfect take - we just need all of it there!
Send the audio file to andy@croydonvineyard.org.uk The file size should be small enough to email, but you can use a file sharing service like wetransfer if necessary.
Once sent, put your name next to the chapter on the google sheet to mark as ‘read’ so we don’t double up.
If all that seems a step too far technically then take option 2 - just email andy@croydonvineyard.org.uk and we can arrange a time to record you e.g. after church on a Sunday, or at our offices during the week.
This is a collective, fun community project AND it’s spiritual warfare! We know the word is living and active and good things happen as we declare it, hear it, and live it!
1 Timothy 4:13 exhorts us:
“Devote yourself to the public reading of scripture”
Let’s do this!
