Vineyard English School (VES)

Free conversational English classes for speakers of other languages.

Vineyard English School is delighted to offer free conversational English language classes for all levels - beginners, intermediates and upper intermediates. Classes currently take place in Croydon and online.

New students are always welcome at all of our classes, and they can simply ‘turn up’ or ‘log on’ at the beginning of the classes to begin. More information about our current timetable, along with other ways to get involved, can be found below.

Our Beginners English Classes are currently on:

Monday at The CVA Resource Centre. 10.30am till 12. The CVA Resource Centre is at 82 London Road, CR0 2TB. 2 minute walk from West Croydon Station.

Thursday at the Active Communities Hub, Centrale Shopping Centre. 10.30am till 12. The Active Communities Hub is on the second floor of Centrale Shopping Centre in Croydon High Street, CR0 1TY. It is opposite H&M, and close to the Starbucks.

New students are always welcome at all of our classes, they can simply arrive at the beginning of the classes.

Our intermediate level classes are currently on:

We are currently running weekly classes for students who are in asylum accommodation in Croydon.

On Tuesdays mornings we are at the Dunheved Hotel in Thornton Heath with a Beginners class at 9:45am and a Pre-Intermediate class at 11am.

On Wednesday mornings we are at the Queen’s Hotel in Crystal Palace with a Beginners class at 9:45am and a Pre-Intermediate class at 11am.

Vineyard English School is growing all the time, and we are always looking to get the right people on board.

We love having people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences come and serve with us - we have people help in a volunteer capacity, to gain work experience, or in a paid capacity (sessional teachers).

We are currently looking for:

English Class Volunteer Assistants

Volunteers are at the heart of VES! Volunteers facilitate, welcome, serve, and assist in all aspects of the classes. We love new people getting involved, whether qualified English teachers lending their skills, or willing volunteers ready to jump in!

Volunteers serve in both our online classes, and in person classes. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to be friendly and an oppeness to learn! Training is given ‘on the job’.

English Teachers

We are looking to expand our rosta of teachers. If you are TEFL qualified (or equivalent), have atleast 1 year or experience, and are enthusiastic about teaching students from all over the world we would love to hear from you. We have part time teaching vacancies for both our online classes, and Croydon classes.

Vineyard English School is primarily funded by Croydon Vineyard Church. It is a gift to the people of Croydon and beyond.
