VES Team End of Week Update | Iran Focus

Dear wonderful VES team,

As we come to the end of our second week back, I wanted to say a huge and heartfelt thank you - again! It has been a really strong start to term, and that is always down to the team. Classes have felt settled, purposeful, and welcoming right from the off, which is no small thing in week two of term.  Thank you for setting such a strong tone.

While it remains too cold(!), we hope you’re also beginning to notice some small but meaningful improvements to the ACH. It has been brilliant to see several of our students taking the initiative in caring for and upgrading the venue - below is a snap of Manuel and Ran hard at it! More progress is on the horizon here, and we’ll share updates as things continue to develop.

VES Dashboard (week at a glance)

• 17 classes delivered across 4 mornings (plus 3 creche sessions)
• 205 student sessions enabled
• 56 volunteer sessions given
Weekly participation number: 280 (76% increase on the same week last year)

Focus this week: Iran
We know that we could be talking about many global crises each and every week, but at this time we do want to hold before us Iran. Many of our Iranian students and teammates are hurting deeply as their country continues to face huge upheaval. One particularly painful reality right now is the internet blackout, which means very limited contact with loved ones back home. We want to ask the VES team especially to pray for and support two of our best - Fereshteh and Reza (pictured below) - who have become such dear and key members of our team and are carrying a great deal at the moment. We love you both, and we are praying for you and your families!

Dates reminder
• February half-term: 16–20 February (no classes)
• Last session of term: Thursday 26 March (Easter Party)

Thank you again for all that you give - your time, energy, compassion, and faithfulness. You are involved in a valuable work.

With much gratitude,
Andy Brims
