Celebrating Baptisms

On 19th May 398 of us gathered at Harris School to worship and celebrate as we baptised Dan, Patricia, Rakhi, Yohan, Elia-Grace, Skyla, Naomi, Kaela, Stephen, Steven and Nathan into the new life of Jesus' Kingdom. Each testimony was very different and yet each one spoke of the persistence of the loving kindness of God. They spoke of Jesus meeting them where they were at, pouring forgiveness onto them and offering them more hope than they could have ever got for themselves. Please do pray for each of these new disciples; they have a beautiful and yet challenging journey ahead. Jesus told us that our Father is a farmer; he transforms us with a slow work, he calls us to engage in it with grubby hands but, wow, is there an amazing harvest in the end. If we all commit together to praying for them, who knows what each of them will have seen God do in 10 years time?

And even as we pray for them, please can we encourage you to keep on contending for a spiritual awakening in Croydon and beyond? We believe Jesus is hungry for more baptisms this year with more people stumbling upon the beauty of his Kingdom and joyfully laying down everything to follow him. Maybe God will use your prayers and your invitations to find some of them. Maybe one of them is you?! As we continue to grow as a community we know it continues to be a challenge to keep everyone informed about everything. In particular, we realise that the large growth in numbers in the last year has stretched some of our integration and communication methods. We hope this email at least gives you a flavour of what's going on. But if you are ever feeling unsure of what is happening or want to find ways to connect in better please do not hesitate to get in touch with us by email, socials, or even by dropping in on us for a coffee at Boon Café.
