Tots and Pebbles - November

This month in Live Like Jesus, we’re discovering that when we follow Jesus, He gives us the Holy Spirit — our Helper — to show the world what God’s Kingdom looks like. The adults and older kids are also exploring mission over these next weeks.

Even at a young age, children can understand that they are part of God’s big mission: to love, help, and pray for others, just like Jesus did. Each week explores a different way to “live like Jesus” — through kindness, bravery, helping others, and sharing His love — all ways God’s Kingdom grows in the world.

Key Scripture of the Month

Key Verse: “The Friend is the Holy Spirit. He will teach you all things.” — John 14:26

5 Finger Prayer Model - widen your prayer impact and who you pray for!

Week 1 – Nov 9 - Jesus Sends the Holy Spirit

Scripture: Acts 2:1–4
Big Idea: God gave us His Holy Spirit so we can live like Jesus and help others.

At-Home Activity:
Make “wind art” together. Use straws to blow paint or coloured water across paper to show how wind moves. Talk about how the Holy Spirit came like a strong wind and helps us move to do good things for God.

I Wonder:
“How does God’s Holy Spirit help us do good things for others?”

Prayer:
“Thank You, God, for giving us the Holy Spirit. Help us listen to You and do the good things You want us to do.”

Week 2 – Nov 16 - Jesus Helps Us Be Brave

Scripture: Acts 4:29–31
Big Idea: The Holy Spirit helps us be brave to pray, help, and share God’s love.

At-Home Activity:
Build a “brave path” with pillows or paper steps. Walk across it together, saying, “Jesus helps me be brave!”
When you reach the end, pray for someone who needs God’s help — this is how we join Jesus’ mission!

I Wonder:
“What brave thing could I do for God this week?”

Prayer:
“Holy Spirit, make me brave like Jesus. Help me pray for people and show Your love wherever I go.”

Week 3 – Nov 23 - Jesus Helps Us Love and Serve

Scripture: John 13:12–15
Big Idea: Living like Jesus means loving and serving others.

At-Home Activity:
Do a simple act of service together — help tidy toys, set the table, or draw a card for someone.
Talk about how Jesus helped people and that when we help others, we’re joining His Kingdom mission.

I Wonder:
“Who can we help or be kind to this week?”

Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for showing us how to love and serve. Help us notice people who need Your kindness.”

Week 4 – Nov 30 - Jesus Helps Us Share His Good News

Scripture: Matthew 28:19–20
Big Idea: We can share God’s love and tell others about Jesus.

At-Home Activity:
Make “good news shakers.” Use plastic bottles or containers, fill them with rice or pasta, and decorate them.
Shake them while saying, “Jesus loves everyone!”
Talk about how we can use our voices to share God’s good news and make His Kingdom known.

I Wonder:
“Who could we tell about Jesus this week?”

Prayer:
“God, thank You that we can tell others about Jesus. Help our voices be loud with Your good news and love.”

Throughout Live Like Jesus, your child is learning that living like Jesus is how we join God’s mission.
When we listen to the Holy Spirit, show kindness, serve, pray, and share, we bring God’s Kingdom wherever we go.

These simple truths — bravery, service, love, and sharing — are the building blocks of faith and mission. Keep watching for everyday moments to ask, “What would Jesus do?” and celebrate when your child chooses to live like Him.
