Saturday 8th January - Catch Up & Reflect

Our Reading Plan has no designated readings on the weekends - it’s just one chapter each weekday! On Sundays we release our New Testament Journey episodes, leaving the Saturdays as an ideal time to catch up on any missed readings and spend a bit more time reflecting.

Looking Back

  • On Sunday our CV Online Episode explored how the New Testament is a bit like a self-driving car - it contains power within it to take us on the journey. It doesn’t just instruct us where to go, but, as we step into it, it propels us to our destination. If you missed the episode you can catch it here - CV Online Power For The Journey

  • On Monday our New Testament Journey began with Luke 1! “The Holy Spirit breathed upon Luke’s brain and Luke’s quill to show us how God came close in Jesus to usher common people into God’s uncommonly amazing plans.” Check out the whole of Tom’s devotional here

  • On Tuesday we continued in Luke 2. Each day’s reading is accompanied by an audio recording of that day’s chapter read by somebody from Croydon Vineyard church. These are available both here on the website, and on our YouTube Channel - for example, you can listen to Lara’s Luke 2 reading here

  • Wednesday continued with Luke 3. Our daily devotional posts with accompanying reading are also released to the church twitter feed. If you have a twitter account it’s another easy way of being reminded each day:

  • On Thursday we stepped into Luke 4. Each day we post a link to the passage on the BibleGateway website. There you can find multiple translations of the passage and dig that bit deeper yourself.

  • Then on Friday we came to Luke 5. As we begin to see Jesus calling the disciples to follow him, Tom posed the devotional question:

Can you reimagine yourself filled with all the goodness of God?

That’s worth spending a bit more time on isn’t it?

Keep an eye out for tomorrow’s New Testament Journey Episode as we dig a bit deeper in Luke 1-5.

The journey has only just begun!!
