TEFL Qualified Teachers Sought

Vineyard English School is growing! Our first two weeks of the 23/24 academic has seen a 26% growth in participation compared with one year ago!

Our venues and volunteer team have changed and grown to keep pace with our increase in student numbers but we are actively looking for another qualified teacher (or three!) to join in our ministry.

Specifically, we are looking for TEFL qualified (or equivalent) teachers with at least one year of experience who could come and teach at our central Croydon venues on a Monday and / or Thursday morning 10-12, during school term times.

We are an informal and fun school that welcomes students from all over the world, many of whom are refugees or asylum seekers, for free conversational English language lessons. We are a ministry of Croydon Vineyard Church, and operate from a Christian ethos - we are ‘more than a language school’. Some of our teachers give their time, others are paid on a sessional basis and we can discuss this further should you wish to apply.

If this opportunity is of interest to you, please email VES Director, Andy Brims, at andy@croydonvineyard.org.uk

Why do we only deploy qualified teachers?

  • Excellent classes. Whilst we’re ‘friendly and informal’ we want to give all our students excellent classes of at least an equivalent standard to what they’d receive in a language academy or college.

  • Trusted teachers. We place a lot of trust in our teachers, giving them a lot of discretion in curriculum choice and lesson style and so we value experience and expertise.

  • Funding applications. VES is actively in the process of seeking funding from grant-giving organisations. Part of our pitch is that we deploy TEFL-qualified teachers.
