Care for everyone

As followers of Jesus we are keen to follow Him in sharing God’s love and care for everyone that comes into contact with us, particularly children and adults with additional care and support needs.  We want to provide a safe environment in which people can thrive emotionally and spiritually. We want to do all we can to ensure their well-being, taking a responsibility to safeguard them from any form of abuse.  We will properly record and report any abuse that we discover or suspect.

Staff and volunteers are trained and committed to working together to build an environment and culture that is safe.  Appropriate checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service are made wherever appropriate.

Dave Prothero is our Trustee for Safeguarding, Lesley Thompson is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Hannah Poole is Deputy Safeguarding Lead.  You can see them on our “Meet the Team” page.

Reporting a concern

If you have any safeguarding concerns about a child or adult please do report it. The best way to do that is by filling in a confidential form on the bottom of the website because that form will help you think through all the different things that might have gone on. If your concern is about Lesley or Tom or their children then go over their heads and go straight to Dave or Hannah.

If your concern relates to all of our safeguarding team, or to our organisation as a whole, you can contact the National Safeguarding Team for Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland on 01482 462 690 or by email at safeguarding@vcuki.org.uk

If you think that a child or an adult with additional care and support needs is at immediate risk of harm and requires protection you should contact the police by dialling 999.
