Rocks and Geodes - Jan-Feb
Over the next couple months , your child will be learning about Faith. Faith isn’t just a word—it’s trusting Jesus with our hearts and lives, declaring that trust with our mouths, and letting it grow as we put it into action and generously use what God has given us.
Here’s some at-home resources for you over the next couple months:
8 day Bible Reading Plan on peace LINK
Prayer resources for children LINK as we press into spiritual awakening as a church
Chat and Catch (prayer and prophecy) LINK how to guide and resources
Below are some ways you can engage from home each week and see what’s coming up.
Faith Week 1- Jan 18th – Sharing our Faith
Big Idea: When we have faith in Jesus, we can share it.
Scripture: Romans 10:10 (NLT)
“It is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
Talk About It
What do you think faith means?
Why do you think sharing faith is called “good news”?
Who is someone you’d like to share Jesus with?
Take-Home Activity – Faith News
Ask your child to create a “Faith Headline” — a short sentence or drawing that shows what they believe about Jesus (for example: “Jesus loves everyone” or “Jesus forgives”).
Encourage them to think about who they could share this with during the week.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for giving us faith. Help us be brave and kind as we share Your good news with others. Amen.
Faith Week 2 - Jan 25–What Is Faith?
Big Idea: Faith is choosing to trust and follow Jesus, even when we can’t see everything.
Scripture: Hebrews 11:1 (NIRV)
“Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we do not see.”
Talk About It
What are some things we trust even though we can’t see them?
How is faith in Jesus different from trusting other things?
Take-Home Activity – Invisible Faith
Ask your child to write or draw something they believe about Jesus on paper. Then cover it or fold it up and talk about how believing doesn’t always require seeing.
Connect this to trusting Jesus with our lives.
Prayer
God, thank You that we can trust You even when we don’t see everything. Help us choose to follow Jesus every day. Amen.
Feb 1st – Fun and Friendship Sunday (easy invite for friends)
CV’s Birthday - Invite Friends - Bake some goods to share as a family - Rodeo competition
Big Idea: Faith grows when we talk, listen, and grow together.
Scripture: Proverbs 27:17
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Talk About It
What has been your favourite thing you’ve learned about faith so far?
Who helps you grow in your faith?
Take-Home Activity – Faith Stories
Share a short story from your own life about trusting God or growing in faith.
Then invite your child to share a time they trusted God or felt close to Him.
Prayer
God, thank You for putting people in our lives to help us grow. Help our family grow closer to You and to each other. Amen.
Faith 3 - Feb 8 - Faith Gives
Big Idea: When we trust God, we can give generously.
Scripture: Hebrews 13:16 (NLT)
“Don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need.”
Talk About It
What does it mean to be generous?
What are ways we can give without using money?
Take-Home Activity – Generosity Challenge
As a family, choose one generous action for the week (helping someone, sharing time, encouraging a friend).
At the end of the week, talk about how it felt to give.
Prayer
God, thank You for being generous to us. Help us trust You and give freely to others. Amen.
Feb 15 – Baptism & Gospel Recap (Easy friend invite)
Big Idea: Baptism shows our faith in Jesus and our choice to follow Him.
Scripture: Matthew 28:19–20
Talk About It
What do you think baptism shows others about our faith?
Why do you think Jesus wants people to know about Him?
Take-Home Activity – The Gospel in Three Parts
Together, summarise the gospel in three simple steps:
God loves us
Jesus saves us
We choose to follow Him
Invite your child to ask questions or explain it in their own words.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for loving us and saving us. Help us follow You with our whole lives. Amen.
Faith 4 - Feb 22 - Faith in Action
Big Idea: Faith grows when we live it out.
Scripture: James 2:26 (NLT)
“Faith without good works is dead.”
Talk About It
What helps faith grow stronger?
What happens if we don’t use our faith?
Take-Home Activity – Faith in Action Plan
Ask your child to choose one faith habit to practise this week (prayer, reading the Bible, helping someone, worship).
Write it down and check in at the end of the week.
Prayer
God, help us put our faith into action. Show us how to live like Jesus every day. Amen.
Final Encouragement for Parents
Faith grows best when it’s talked about, practised, and celebrated at home. Small conversations, shared prayers, and lived examples make a lasting impact. Thank you for walking this journey of faith with your child.
If you’d like, I can also:
Create a printable one-page version per week
Simplify this for younger ages or stretch it for older pre-teens
Add “I wonder…” questions for each week
Just tell me what would be most helpful.
