Step 1

Try it out!

We love that you are interested in being a part of the kids team. The first step is giving it a try. Have some fun getting to know the kids, the team and the general rhythms of a Sunday morning in kids church.

Read our Croydon Vineyard values, especially #2 to get a vision for how we want to raise sons and daughters of a living God! And read the ‘what to expect’ so you can feel prepared when you come on the day.

If you’ve completed step 1 and you think you’d still love to be a part of the team, that’s amazing! Now you can move on to step 2 :)

STEP 2

Safeguarding & DBS Check

As a church, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our kids and families and also for you as team members. Each volunteer is required to have a DBS check done in order for them to be a part of the team.

DBS sign up Form: Below you will find the initial sign up form that you can use to start the DBS process.

Training Video: This needs to be viewed by each team member and reviewed by everyone at least once a year.

Safeguarding concerns form: this can also be found on our safeguarding page. Any team member or member of the church can use this at any time. This is a way for you to report anything that you see that you think may be of concern.

Step 3

Get to know the basics

We have some basic documents that will help orient you as you get to know the kids team and how it all works. Please read through each one before moving on to step 3.

step 4

Resourcing and Training

At different times, we create videos and provide links to content that can be helpful for you as you join in on the glorious task of raising sons and daughters for God. When a new video or suggested resource comes out, we will put it on the team page and send a link to your team via an email or whatsapp group. It can be helpful to watch these and read the articles after attending a couple of sessions so that you have a context for how they can work for the age group and team you are a part of.

Chat and catch is a phrase we use to talk about prayer and prophecy. Rachel Turner (who is in the video linked above) has some great material to help us explore how to make prayer and hearing God’s voice something for every age and every stage. 101 ways to start a conversation with God

If you like reading, this book is an excellent way to see how every age can get stuck in and do the stuff Jesus did.

Step 5

Pressing into God’s presence and Croydon Vineyard community.

As team members it is vital that you join in with and participate in our Sunday services to spend time in worship and growing together. We also invite you to explore the Bible andhome groups where you can grow in your own walk with God in a community.

A few times a year we will run a safeguarding and training meetings for our under 18s volunteers. We also try to organize socials once or twice a year to help the team have a bit of fun together. We ask that you seek to prioritize these meetings as part of your commitment to volunteering on the kids team.

That’s it, you’ve done it!

Thank you for running through these 5 steps, please fill in this form below so we know you have done them.
