Jehovah Jireh Fund

One of the most wonderful verses in all of the book of Acts is 4:34 "there was no needy person among them because those who owned land or houses would sell them to bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need".

Historically and globally the church has been at its best when it has taken seriously Jesus’ call to love our neighbours, honouring the dignity of each and every individual made in the image of God. For the first 500 years of the church, it was normal for the church to give large portions of its income to care for widows and orphans. This action converted the Roman Empire and is acknowledged to have been the most effective form of evangelism the church has ever used.

As a church we have felt stirred by the Lord to set aside some of our money for a Jehovah Jireh Fund; some cash that can be given to those in the church who are struggling to pay their bills this winter. Jehovah Jireh means God is Provider, and we would love this initiative to strengthen all of our confidence that God indeed is faithful and he always cares for his children.

If you would like to apply for support from the Jehovah Jireh fund, or if you know someone in the church you would like to recommend for support please just fill out the simple form at the bottom of our "giving" page. We will be using 1 Timothy 5 as our guide for how to manage this money well. And we know all of you will love to be part of Jesus' great saving work on this earth; seeing the money you have given to the Lord being used to express his mercy and love to those who are looking to Him for their daily bread.

We love you and are praying for you,

Much affection

Tom and Lesley
