How Croydon Vineyard spends its money - 2023

You can always check our annual at the Companies House website or contact any Trustee or Tom and Lesley about any spending or finance questions. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08409393/filing-history

Here are some headline figures for the spending approved by the Trustees for 2023:

Of these, the most significant is Staff costs and we believe it is money extremely well spent. This includes all costs of salaries, pensions, NI contributions and payroll admin costs. We have an aspiration to pay our staff team at a level equivalent to public service (eg. teachers, nurses) but we have not yet got up to that level.

The staff we employ are:

Tom & Lesley - Senior Pastors, sharing one salary.

Andy Brims - full time, running Vineyard English School, CV Online & communications

Tina Almstadt - 0.8FTE, Kids Pastor and admin

Zac Carpenter - 0.6FTE, Worship pastor

Lara Sokunbi - 0.8FTE, Youth Pastor & social media

Phil Merriman - 0.2FTE, Sunday Teams

Hannah Poole - 0.2FTE, Community Building & small groups

Allocating these categories to the Emphasis that they are being spent towards shows this:

Savings & Reserves

  • Over the last 10 years through specific gifts (eg Go & Grow) and through savings we have accumulated £200k towards a future building purchase.

  • Our financial policy requires us to keep 3 months spending in reserves; currently £110k

  • See below for more information about our plan for a future building purchase

Some Goals for the Future

We are currently using a Fundraiser to seek to raise more income for:

  • An expansion in Vineyard English School, particularly in pastoral support for the students

  • An increase in Youth Mentoring and Outreach Projects

  • A larger investment in our production of online worship materials and the New Testament Journey

On top of these we thought it would be helpful to show what increases in income would enable:
