"The power of the Holy Spirit shot up my arm"

“A group of us recently went to the Cause to Live For event run by Vineyard Churches in Nottingham.

It was very clear that the presence of God was with our group and there are so many stories I could tell: from powerful visions to potentially miraculous near-miss car accidents.

Perhaps my favourite moment came near the end, when I was tired and ready to go home. I was asked to pray for another member of the group who was obviously meeting powerfully with the Lord.

I wasn't really in the right mood to but I went over and put my hand on their shoulder. As I tried to think of what to pray, the power of the Holy Spirit shot up my arm and I could no longer stand up. Wobbling to the floor, people kept coming up to me and asking if I needed prayer - I kept having to direct them to the first guy but couldn't stand up to go and get out of the way. Much like with the priests in the old testament, simply being near what God was doing was (very literally) staggering.

This is the power of the God we serve, power that can break out regardless of your feelings and circumstances.”
