"I was invited to be a leader..."

“In August the Youth went to a summer event Dreaming The Impossible (DTI) and I was invited to come as a leader. I was excited at first but when it came to go, I felt very drained and lazy. But going made me feel like my energy had suddenly been replenished.

After praying with some leaders I believe I felt God taking me in the direction of being a youth leader. To this point I don't know why I'm here, but it's the same principle as Peter, cast your net to the side because Jesus truly has big things for you.

In my 2-3 months of being a leader, I have seen unity between all different ages, many of the youths having a hunger for God and a desire to seek the truth.

Last Sunday, the youth went out giving gift bags to people on the street. One young person was rejected 5 times but after each rejection, they persevered and tried to talk about Jesus. Two other people were so eager to find someone to pray for, they were practically running to find someone. Another person is generally very quiet and shy, but they were very talkative when they went out to pray.

My encouragement for anyone would be to keep your eyes ahead at Jesus, no matter the circumstance or situation. He will help you.

My favourite story in the bible is this small interaction with Moses and God. Moses was saying it was impossible for him to do any sort of talkative task as he had a speech problem. God said "who gave you your mouth, was it not me?” So my point is, it doesn't matter how we are built, it was God who made us, and if he has a task for you then he knows you can do it. (Exodus 4: 10-12)”
