"I saw an opportunity and took it"

“I saw an opportunity and took it.

Just before Christmas, I was heavily doubting everything to do with my faith. I felt like my joy, peace and love had been robbed. I was repeatedly asking God: what can I do about this?

I'd planned a lunch out one Sunday so was meant to leave mid-service but Tom (senior pastor) suggested I stay for ministry at the end. I doubted whether to stay or not but I stayed and came forward for prayer!

A 14 year old from Alyve (youth group) prayed for me. He took a few minutes to hear from God but the second he put his hand on my shoulder, it felt like The Lord of Heavens and Earth had put his hand on me- I started feeling peace inside my heart while sobbing. He made such a powerful prayer!

I took to heart what God said through this teenager: continue to pray Madi, continue to pray!

It was pouring outside as I was driving to the lunch. I had a slight accident and crashed into a car that was parked on the road. I stopped, found the driver and told her what had happened. She was a nurse on a home visit to a couple in their 40s- the man was in a wheelchair, paralysed and could only move his eyes.
The lady of the house said they'd lived there for 10 years and there'd never been an accident on that road. I thought to myself, I'd never scratched anyone’s car in 12 years of driving.

I was sure it was a God moment.

I had peace still from prayer, but I was still doubting what had been prayed over me: was it really from God? But I told myself I wanted to act in faith rather than being stuck in my thoughts.
I asked the lady if I could pray for the man in the wheelchair, and she was so surprised. She told her husband that I was coming to pray for him.
I prayed and invited the Holy Spirit in, asking Him to have his way. Then passed all my details to the nurse whose car I scratched and that was it. I did what God asked me to do and left the rest to Him.

I've been praying for them since and look forward to seeing what God can do next!”
